Managing Director of Defacto Solutions Limited, Alec Willis, is very enthusiastic about 2006/7: “Successful contract negotiations with Sage, including the sale of three main stream modules, has resulted in closer ties with Sage and improved financial stability for Defacto. We have been able to expand our operations and invest heavily in development projects to create new products. We are now beginning to see the strategy/investment come to fruition as we unveil our plans to make a number of significant product launch announcements over the next twelve months."
"We were pleased to join Sage at the recent Connections exhibition in Manchester to launch our new Sage 1000 products for Quality Management, LIMS, Testing and Inspection and Vendor and Customer Returns Management. This followed a very successful exhibiton at the ISTUG Conference in Bournemouth."

The Defacto X-Factor
Sage Line 500 is extremely successful package software which aims at addressing 70-80% of customer needs out of the box. Defacto delivers the “X-factor” that augments this standard software with extended customer enhancements that address the specific needs of key areas of manufacturing and distribution.
The resulting combination of Sage and Defacto brings the security of marketing leading package application software with a tuned and focussed solution without the need for compromise or risk.
Accredited by Sage UK as a Sage Developer, Defacto has been supplying products and services to the Sage client base since 1991. Defacto continues to harness the potential of emerging technologies whilst creating robust and useable solutions which deliver tangible benefits to its clients.
With in-depth specialist knowledge of the Sage top-end products gained from working closely with Sage for two decades, Defacto designs and creates modular extensions and bespoke modifications to meet market and customer needs. We work closely with the Sage Reseller base and are dedicated to providing software to a global client base.
Defacto has been creating new module software for Sage since 1992 and has always sought to avoid the “Ivory Tower Development Syndrome”. The company operates an Early Adopter Programme where business can work alongside Defacto deveopment team during the initial releases of new software..
Defacto projects include systems for Point-of-Sale, Customer and Vendor Returns, Electronic Data Capture, Billing, Configuration, Distribution, Works Order Processing and Microsoft Office Front-end solutions. Over the years we have worked Motorola, Tulip, NEC, ENTA, Hitachi, Arsenal Football Club, USF, Marconi, WrightBus, Richmond and ACO.
New Quality Management focussed modules
Defacto is working on three new add-on modules for Sage in additional to enhanced versions of two of its best sellers. Early pre-release versions of some of these new offerings are in beta test at present at sites around the UK. An initial version of Quality Management is currently being installed at COSi along with test versions of the vesion 2 features in the module.
We are working with three partner-end-users to test and prove the Vendor Returns module. It is an exciting time which will offer many challenges and require hard work. We have been through the design-development-deployment cycle several times before with previous products so we feel confident we are introducing world-leading applications.
